off to arcadia and basking on the beauty

i'm off again to do some more at my beach house... thinking of naming it arcadia...

i had a great afternoon & evening scteching yesterday and i'm pleased with all the overnight comments... i have to agree it is the warmth, friendliness and openness that lets me see the real beauty in the BBW chat room regulars

100th. blog entry & a wish

didn't realise but I'm up to 100 entries already... how time flies when you are having fun...

guys remember I'll be giving the most comments sketch the sketch of the month award... so vote for your favourite lady bu leaving comments... nice ones of course ;-)

by the way is you like any images you can click on them and get a bigger version (usually 880 by 600 pixels)...

does anyone know of a service that will print from the net..? I for one wouldn't mind seeing some of these images made into mouse mats, mugs... etc... so us regukar guys can pay homage to lovely ladies

watercolour washes & perspective

watercolour of lotta Posted by Hello

this is painted from a small photo and as usually I ran into the same old traps of trying to copy it to closely so the colours are a bit heavy and I'm worried about the perspective....

babi revisited

I've reworked this sketch of babi in watercoluor & pencil Posted by Hello

This is a rework of an earlier sketch since I was unhappy with the eyes and colour... I think it is stronger and more sensual now... more like babi herself

third reworking of this sketch of care Posted by Hello

I'll admit i've had a lyttle trouble getting this one right, especially the eyes and had to redo the hair and shoulders... but this sketch has been a lot of fun

good news & un petite aggro

A visit to the eye specialist has confirmed what I already know... my
vision is returning
... and I can drive now, so shhh I haven't been
driving for the past to weeks it wasn't me
... I'm going to have to stay
on the steroid drops for another 4 weeks... they slow the healing of the
cornea, which will stop serious scaring.. except for the fact that I
won't be able to compete in the Olympics, I guess it's a good
outcome..

there has been a bit of agro in blog land, I joined up with the
australian blog alliance.. and now I'm supposed to be member of a
secret right wing conspirancy
... sorry niall mate I'm not secretative
at all, i just like to draw bigger girls.. is that a sin now as
well..? but why do I have to keep my hands to myself..? does that mean i have to grow up..???

i actuallydo wish promote free speech so is you want to follow the discourses... expressing your opinion is fine are long as you avoid being hurtfull.. you can read about 'our' virtual thumbs down

a fondly remembered dream returns

wasting bandwidth

being keen to practice I logged into the chat rooms early…. but the rooms were full… then when I did get in…. i was constantly booted whenever I turned on my webcam… I’m starting to suspect that it is those annoying "hi there. I’m about to get naked " bots that rudely IM you all the time... that cause the booting... maybe there is a limit to the number of windows you can have open or something… is there an unwritten tax on wasting bandwidth, or something similar.

bloody yahoo & bots

a small sketch of candy apples(pencil rub on paper over a textured backing) Posted by Hello

well I started a sketch or two, this one was trying to reproduce the same heavily overrubbed style of a sketch I did for terry a while back. but eventually gave up my on-line practice... but I did play around with watercolour… returning to a couple of sketches I was disappointed with... and of course the colours flourished... more scans later when they have dried out

reworked sketch of wishy having fun (pencil) Posted by Hello

the eyes have it

i had a proper artist look at my work... said I have a pretty unique technique, but i think overall i got an ecouragment award... just a few worthy suggestions I need to get the yes right... which is something I already new... & in typical art teacher fashion she said I should to do a lot more... practice, practise practice.... who am I to argue

carol didn't want to sketch her but i started sketching her eyes... couldn't help it... but now I realise why i was so dissapointed with babi's watercolour... the eyes

a close game & a lots of cocktail fun

another good hockey game... I’m becoming quiet a fan... then it was a big fundraiser for the team…. a dress up party… based on connie and carla, or your favorite show tune characters… well I’ve never seen so many girls dress as blokes dressed as girls and vicer versa… I had the job of bar tender… my costume my shorts and hibiscus shirt… south pacific of course!

The big hit of the party… well after the show tune karaoke..! was my seven deadly sins cocktails… nut I had to change envy… at $70/bottle I had soon ran out of absinthe... so i subsituted midori, no one noticed...

here is my all original the sin of envy cocktail mix… places a sugar cube in chilled shot glass and carefully begin to layering, starting with absinthe, aka the green fairy... which was very appropriate for the night… next add a centimeter of sambuca & finally lay on some green chartreuse up to the rim

in the company of real men

I’ve been back down to my beach place… its up on the side of a sand dune & there is no access for delivering the building material… so I foolishly promised the builder I’d organize it… so I hire half a dozen guys from work for the dole and my deaf mate came along… he has got the job with a local survey crew I recommended him for, but he came along on his rod (rostered day off) because he didn’t believe it would be possible hand deliver a house load of timber by hand… well we did with the help of a hand winch and timber rails for the biggest beams… together with a fetch and carry chain gang style approach.

after a couple of weeks under the care of lovely girls… that truly cared for me… I was pleased to get away from all the emotional trauma… & shopping! pity its was so cold & wet and such hard work… but there are no emotions amongst blokes… stop whimpering robbo and just put it on your shoulder and carry it to that pile…

to overcome the boredom of the task we had music, one of the team had a massive sound system in his care that blasted and vibrated… was impressing 500m away… trouble was we only has 3 CDs… and one was trouble by pink, the most popular was AC/DC’s thunderstruck… no surprises there… & the last a band I’ve not heard off, a local band called jet, very reminiscent of the early beatles… the track that I can stop humming is look what you have done, you’ve made a fool of everyone…! Déjà vu again..

strawberry daiquiri & gorgeous model(s)

I was deteremined to continue the art therapy and noticed a good friend terry was on-line to i visited her in Big Bellied Ladies and Admirers... what a lot of fun was had... mostly at my expense... as I struggled with the bloody booting gods of yahoo... the bastards really got me frustrated... even made me drop a few buggars... ok enough french for now

the adanboned first wash of baby Posted by Hello

... but the ladies didn't frustrate me... we shared champers and even the very classy strawberry daiquiri.... a joyfull cocktail to mix... actual you don't mix a daiquiri you muddle one... using a suitable thick wooden stick... which is called a middling stick & yes ladies 6 to 8 inches long would be a very satisfactory... it is used to pound the ripe berries into a pulp... this cockatil must be serve immediately to appreciate the fragrance...

my first model was the very gorgeous babi... who has the most elluring eyes... my sketchs don't do them justice though..!

then I did a pencil sketch of lotta, in between many and painfull bootings... she was worried she needed more colour... i think you are pretty enough without makeup

a request for a giblet and sketchus interuptus

I decided i would get back to the on-line sketching today... and forget the real world... ran into an old friend... one I convinced was sketch worthy but after reading my blog she said she felt like a vodka giblet, as seen on that great show 6ft under...
so I started sketching and searching the net for a recipe...
the paint flows Posted by Hello

lots of fun really... not still no sign of what a giblet is... but at least my friend was no longer bored... the occasional smile even... then...

the under painting is halted! Posted by Hello

bloddy yahoo... & its webcamera fun envy... I couldn't find the recipe for a vodka giblet either ...

I had such a creative evening I returned to my unfinished wash of panada... & got a bit carried away with the colours... gaugain would understand...la recherche decstasy

even the paint is against me

after my experiments in the solomons I'm keen to master the watercolor wash and getting the right paper was part of that so I've been experimenting. I loved a photo I was sent to sketch by paula some time ago and thought the transparent top over a healthy skin tone would be a perfect test. so one with a very diluted scarlet... let it dry and then add a little orche and violet and .... buggar its gone all blotchy...

Paula a bit blotchy Posted by Hello

it seems the paint or my paintbrush must have a bit of lacquer or something waterproof in them. take about back to the drawing board

back to the sketches

this is also an older sketch & it is from about the time when I moved away from lines into shadows & form. Otherwise its a very conventional pencil sketch... i like the hair in this one, if you look its the shadows that make it work not the lines.

so what to do now... get drunk i suppose... but i never drink alone... well thats not exactly true I often have a campari & soda in airport lounges... I don't mind a good malt whiskey... but i only drink fine malts is someone else is paying.. Hmmm what to do... ?

I wonder what going on in Yahoo! chatland... lots of booting thats what.......

I wonder if there is a cocktail called remorse..? lets check the web... no luck on The Webtender

just have to draw my own emote then... and try to perfect the vodka martini, with a dash of bitters instead of an olive
