Late new years resolution

I'm not sure why my the demographic for this humble sketch blog has changed so much... still getting a reasonable number hits, but they are all now mainly firsttime visitors (I used to get 50% revisit level)... does that mean I'm not posting anything interesting enough to bring folk back... love to get feeback actually what do you like or dislike, does this new "cleaner layout suck", do you listen to the tunes, is my art just crap.... and i boring you.

a calendar project

after a very little encouragement from billy warhol... I have decided to create two different "glamour" calendars for the flickr group i moderate called "the funbag fascination". This is the first, shown here,the "The cleavage gourmet", is based on some of the best cleavage photo submitted. Because I am having a private no fakers campaign I only selected what I considered were genuine photos and I am very pleased with the results.








INSTRUCTIONS :: HOW TO MAKE a PERSONAL COPY OF THIS CALENDAR.

This is DIY (do it yourself) calendar, and only for personal use (see the copyright and wrong discussion at the bottom of the right-hand side column.

First click through on each image and the select all sizes, and get the largest size images (they are all 710 by 710 pixels, this is 12cm at 150dpi and matched a CD jewel case size), download to your computer and print them out. The instructions to assemble your calendar can be found here

fd's flickr toys where used to make this calendar and to the best of my knowledge no boobs where harmed in the making of this calendar.

This year I did'n't participate in the big race... but i did get plenty of opportunity to muck around in and near some great boats



I've also enjoys coming to grips with "painting" with pastels... I love the pure colours... so you may see me using this medium more and more

portrait of jenna... i loved the pose but i have to admit this is my second attempt... i have tried to say looser and lower key... just a hint of skin tone... to contrast with the beautiful flowwing hair

for Illustration Friday's topic "pheonix"

This drawing/painting/cartoon is an attempt to restart my artistic endeavours... ofter an busy and distraction period... i'm determined to get back to the 50 paintings, one drawn it day discipline

The illustration friday topic seems like a perfect way to start

But most this illustration is mostly about cricket,... one of the distractions... and the great battle (much closer than the score line might suggest) for a largely symbolic urn containing some ashes... I don't like like cricket? oh no, I love it...

I'm up to painting 8 .... and well to the honest this is a pastel sketch not a painting.... but i am working on it like a painting.... sudeenly pastels are making sense to me amd I'm enjoying bringing out the tones (in much the same way as i build up watercolour washes.... but using a midtone colured paper I can move to darks (the shadows) and lights at the same time.... and pastels are pure colour

I started this a couple of days ago and have just added a few more "highlights".... it is so big it wont fit on my scanner so the full image here is a photo and you can see it larger on flickr (just click on it)... the images below are highlights that could be scanned at once.
